Up for your consideration is a stunning French Art Nouveau statue from the early 1900’s. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This piece had been displayed in my beach house for many years. It is very heavy for its size. It measures 9.5 inches tall by 5 inches wide at the base. I don’t know what it’s made of. It looks bronze. But I don’t think it’s metal. It had wood grain on the underside but it’s too heavy for wood. It’s cool to the touch like stone. It’s gold gilded. So I am unsure of the material but it’s stunning. This antique early 1900's French Art Nouveau sculpture, signed by the artist, showcases a large bronze clay wood statue of a woman, reflecting the Art Nouveau style popular in Paris, France during this period. The sculpture, produced using bronze casting technique, exudes an extremely beautiful and historical charm, making it a unique and valuable piece of art from the French culture of the early 20th century.
