LIME KILN Allentown PA Industrial History Quarry Pennsylvania Postcard DB 1907

  • This Divided Back postcard shows an image of a Lime Kiln near Allentown Pennsylvania.
  • Research indicates that this particular lime kiln was not known as a famous landmark and most likely was a privately owned kiln.
  • The image shows the stone structure off to the left with smoke or dust coming out the top.  A wood "roof" comes out of this side held up simply by wood pieces.
  • To the right is a pile of stone and a rock face that might indicate that the quarry is right there.
  • ON THE FRONT: "Lime Kiln, Allentown, Pa."
