Up for sale is an authentic vintage Zippo windproof lighter featuring the official emblem for Naval Air Station (NAS) Cecil Field (Master Jet Base). Located in Jacksonville, Florida, this historical base served as a primary hub for East Coast carrier aviation for nearly 50 years before its decommissioning in 1999. This is an excellent collectible piece for US Navy veterans, military historians, or Zippo enthusiasts.
Date Codes & Markings:
• Outer Case: Stamped "G VIII" on the bottom, indicating a production date of July 1992.

• Inner Insert: Stamped with a standalone "A" on the left side with no Roman numerals on the right, indicating a production date of January 1986.

Condition Details:
• Mechanism: FULLY CLEARED & READY! The flint tube has been thoroughly cleared of all vintage debris. The flint wheel spins completely freely and smoothly. The original brass flint screw and felt pad are present and in excellent shape. The original copper-wire interwoven wick is present with typical charring from past use, and the chimney shows light carbon soot. Just needs a fresh flint and fluid to strike!

• Cosmetics: The front NAS Cecil Field emblem is highly vibrant, colorful, and fully intact. The high-polish chrome finish on the case shows uniform light-to-moderate surface scratching and pocket swirl marks consistent with age, but no deep dents, gouges, or pitting.

• Hinge: The original 5-barrel hinge is structurally tight, straight, and well-aligned with excellent lid posture. The internal cam spring receiver is undamaged and gives that classic Zippo "click" sound upon opening.
