Both Color WonderSwans, One Lot

Bandai released exactly two color handhelds in the WonderSwan family, and this lot has both: the WonderSwan Color (WSC-001, 2000) in translucent Crystal Blue, and its successor the SwanCrystal (SCT-001, 2002) in Blue Violet.

The interesting part is the difference between them. The WonderSwan Color used an STN panel — vivid, but with heavy ghosting during scrolling. Two years later the SwanCrystal answered that with a 2.8-inch reflective TFT screen from Citizen, cutting motion blur dramatically and brightening the picture. Owning both is the only way to actually see how far the hardware came.

Both units have been tested and confirmed working. Never sold outside Japan.

Both consoles run every WonderSwan Color title and the full original monochrome WonderSwan catalogue (mono games display in monochrome). That opens up Final Fantasy I & II, Front Mission, Rockman & Forte, Gunpey, Digimon, Guilty Gear Petit and the rest of the Japan-only line-up.

The screen rotates for both horizontal and vertical play, each unit runs for hours on a single AA, and the hardware is completely region-free.

• Cosmetics: Good used condition for 20+ year-old handhelds. Both units show some scratches and marks from normal use. Screens are clear and readable.
• Consoles only — no games, boxes, manuals, straps or batteries.
• Each console requires 1 x AA battery (not included, widely available).
• As with any handheld of this age, minor cosmetic imperfections not individually listed may be present.
• Japanese-language systems. Hardware has no region lock.
