An elegant pair of Japanese hanging scrolls (kakejiku) with complementary landscape paintings (sansui) in ink and light color on silk. The left scroll shows a moonlit river scene — a rocky cliff with a waterfall, gnarled pines, and a small boat with three figures crossing the water. The right scroll shows a mountain village — hazy blue-grey peaks, clusters of houses among slender evergreens, and rocky banks along a stream.

Both paintings are signed 雲芳 (Unpō) at the lower right — the art name of Sasaki Unpō (佐々木雲芳), an early 19th-century Shijō-school painter from Sendai and student of Saitō Setsudō. Each scroll is mounted in the traditional format with pale sage-green silk brocade borders woven with a floral pattern, cream ichimonji strips, hanging cords, and white roller ends. Each measures approximately 43.5" tall × 12" wide.

Condition: Good. Light horizontal creasing across both mounts from rolling, typical of stored scrolls. The left scroll has a notable dark stain/rub mark on the lower cream section. No tears or foxing. Please see all photos, which form part of the condition description.
