Koetsu Rosewood Signature "Mono" MC Moving Coil Phono Cartridge.

This specially designed mono cartridge was manufactured by original Koetsu Co., Ltd. of Japan.

This is a like new condition, sounds great, works beautifully cartridge, excellent detail, stylus still sharp, cantilever and suspension is also in excellent condition. Used only under 50 hours.

A true mono cartridge has a single coil that sums the audio signal mechanically. This produces the same robust signal to both speakers. Stereo cartridges send the left and right channel information separately.

Mono records are cut with lateral grooves, while stereo grooves contain both lateral and vertical information. When a stereo cartridge plays a mono record, the stylus attempts to track these non-existent vertical modulations, picking up more pops, clicks, and surface noise.
