For sale is this antique 18th century carved coquilla nut snuff box. The intricate carving depicts a hunter on horseback with a snake climbing a tree and a hound running alongside the hunter.  I would estimate it was carved in France in the late 1700s.  It measures about 3 1/4 inches wide and weighs about 49 grams.  Unfortunately the original hinges are broken and missing and it looks like the box was glued at some point to repair the ends.  Others minor chips and wear from handling over time.
