Kigelia Africana is a tree plant native to African continent. It is widely distribute in Africa and has been a widely used traditional medicine and for other domestic uses in Africa since time immemorial. The realization of its folkloric use in the management of local ailment has recently reveal the remarkable potential of the plant. K. Africana is now used by cosmetic lines as a major ingredients in skin ointments and body lotions as a panacea for many skin disease and for its skin preservation and smoothing effect. A literature review of scientific studies on K. Africana reveals its multifarious nature of the plant in traditional and herbal medicine.
