Josef Originals began producing figurines in California in 1945. Due to competition from Japan, they started a pottery in Japan in 1959 and continued making figurines under various ownership until 1985.
Their small ceramic mouse figurines depicting mice in various activities and for various seasonal holidays were very popular. This mouse is holding a book and wearing a mortarboard for its graduation. It is about 2-3/4 inches tall, 2-1/2 inches wide ear-to-ear, and 3 inches front-to-back.
There are no markings on the bottom.
The glaze colors are still vibrant and it is in good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing - and ready to add to a collection or display all on its own.
