A decorative pair of antique amber glass Roemer / Römer-type goblets, probably Continental European and likely 19th century or earlier-style, made in the tradition of 17th and 18th-century North European drinking glasses.
Each glass is hand formed with a tall tapering bowl, applied prunts, a darker amber knop, a wrythen spiral-ribbed hollow stem and a flared tooled foot. The pair display strong hand-blown character, with visible air bubbles, inclusions, tooling marks and slight irregularities throughout.
The form relates to historic Roemer drinking glasses, particularly in the applied prunts, warm amber glass and hollow flared stems. Offered as antique Roemer-type goblets, with exact age and origin given on a best-efforts basis from visible form, material and construction.
Both display very well as early-style table glass, cabinet pieces or part of a collection of antique drinking glasses.
Condition: Good antique display condition overall. Both upper drinking rims appear intact. There are small chips, nibbles, fleabites and roughness around the foot/base rims, as photographed. Light surface wear, air bubbles, inclusions, tooling marks and handmade irregularities are present. No major cracks or repairs observed.
