Designer and ceramicist Lisa Larson (1931-2024) is well known for her handcrafted and decorated whimsical figures of people - primarily children - and animals. Her "Children of One World" designed for Gustavsberg in Sweden 1974-75 were produced there into the 1980s. A series of 8 representing different nationalities was made and were finished with a textured tan background with hand-decorated details.
This listing is for "Syd", a seated chubby child in a long shirt representing a child of South Sudan. It is about 4-1/4 inches tall, 2-1/4 inches wide, and 2-1/2 inches front-to-back.
It has its original foil label "GUSTAVSBERG DESIGN LISA LARSON" on the side. The bottom of its feet has the impressed "GUSTAVSBERG LISA L SWEDEN" and a black "M".
The figurine is in very good vintage condition - and ready to add to a collection or display all on its own.
