DESCRIPTION:
This item is complete except for one hook and is overall in very good unboxed condition and is a scale length model rather than the common shorter version numerous markings on sides although nothing too serious where the yellow lines are facing in pictures 5, 6 and 7. It does have buffers allowing it to be in a rake of locomotive-hauled Mk2 and/or Mk3 coaches, although its number suggests it was intended to be used as part of an HST set. The item in the pictures is the actual item you will receive. (Ref: 3408)

DESIGN:
Mk3 coaches were built between 1975 and 1988. They were similar to the later air-conditioned (air-con) Mk2 coaches, except they were 75 feet long compared to the previous standard length of 64½ feet. A variant of the Mk3 became the rolling stock for the High Speed Train (HST), which were built between 1975 and 1982. These were designed to run at 125mph and reduce journey times on Inter-City routes. They have operated on principle services out of Paddington, Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross, as well as cross-country services.

BRAND:
National Express was the first train operating company for the Midland Main Line franchise on privatisation in 1996, serving Sheffield, Nottingham and Leeds on the pre-grouping routes of the Midland Railway out of London St Pancras. In 2004 its livery was changed from teal and beige to petrol, grey and white. This lasted until the franchise was combined with some Central Trains services into a new East Midlands franchise in 2007.

HIGH SPEED TRAINS:
We specialise in providing quality High Speed Trains, which are always in stock in various liveries - further details available on request

GRADING (A VERY ROUGH GUIDE ONLY):
Most of our items are in mint/near mint condition but sometimes brand new stock is available. We realise that different people will grade differently, so formulating an 100% fool-proof system is impossible. The description and pictures should therefore be taken as the best guidance for the product, but here is a very general guide on how our items are graded:
MINT = Item is in perfect condition with no signs of use
NEAR MINT = Item is almost perfect with the odd minor imperfection
VERY GOOD = Item is undamaged but may have light markings, imperfections or signs of wear
GOOD = Item is still in a reasonable condition but play worn with only light damage or repair
FAIR = Item is noticeably play worn possibly with some damage but is still usable
POOR = Item is damaged or unusable without repair and treated as Spares and Repairs
