A wonderful example of the iconic French cycliste jacket, popular with cyclists and motorcyclists from the 1930's - 50's; as well as with Luftwaffe pilots. The short blouson cut with a cinched waistband gave it a distinctive silhouette and allowed unrestrictive movement for outdoor sports. This example is finished in a soft dark brown leather, and features a light grey, chocolate and cream plaid wool lining, as well a engraved waistband buckle typically seen only on higher-end examples of this type of jacket.
The jacket is in good used condition with minor damage to the supple leather. There is some wear to the high points of the leather, distressing to the fork of the cuff and waist openings and the lining is a bit grubby and worn. All 3 zippers are original, in smooth working condition and marked LFF, with the main zip marked SGDG as well.
The jacket is a very rare larger size (all I've encountered before are very small sizes) and would suit a wearer of approximately 42” or 44” chest depending on fit.
