Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an extremely common and potentially devastating problem. A total of 100 patients with TBI were evaluated clinically with Glascow Coma Scale (GCS) at time of presentation to emergency unit and submitted to emergency brain CT scan.Eighty percent of the cases with mild TBI, 6% moderate TBI and 14% severe TBI. The CT scan findings in mild TBI cases was as follow: 62.5% subgalial hematoma (SGH), 31.25% calvarial skull fracture, 5% cerebral contusion, 3.75% subarachiniond hemorrhage ( SAH), 2.5% fracture base of skull, 1.25% diffuse cerebral oedema, 1.25% with extradural hematoma (EDH) and 1.25% with subdural hematoma (SDH).Patients presented with moderate TBI, 83.33% SGH, 66.66% with SAH, 66.66% patients with cerebral contusion, 50% with diffuse cerebral oedema, 50% calvarial skull fracture, 33.33% SDH and 33.33% fracture base of skull. The brain CT scan findings in the patients presented with severe TBI were: 85.71% subgaleal haematomas, 64.28% had calvarial skull fracture, 57.14% fracture base of skull, 57.14% cerebral contusion, 50% SAH, 35.71% diffuse cerebral oedema, 28.57% SDH, 14.28% EDH and 14.28% intracerebral haemorrhage.
