For Sale: Rare 1919 dated, British Tailored, 3 buttoned with working cuff Jacket. Made by Meyer & Mortimer (est 1790) 36 Conduit St London W. (Conduit Street is a historic Mayfair thoroughfare in West London connecting Regent Street to New Bond Street. Developed in the 18th century, it historically formed part of London’s elite bespoke tailoring hub near Savile Row.) This suit has all the tailoring details you would expect of a high-end bespoke tailors of the Savile Row calibre.

If you’re interest Meyer & Mortimer shop on Conduit Street was destroyed during the Blitz in WW2 & they are now located at Ormond House
3 Duke of York Street
London.

Made for a Capt H J Caton by the looks of it but I haven’t been able to find details of the man’s life online unfortunately.

Yes this is a black jacket but you’ll be hard pressed to find another this well made, in this condition & dated 1919.

Condition: almost excellent, the only issue I see is a tiny hole at the front that’s been sewn shut but you can kinda see where it was if you look closely (see pictures). Really not that noticeable when worn in natural light though.
