Tlingit Potlatch Spoon with Raven
RARE. This large carved potluck spoon was made in the traditional style of the Tlingit tribe from Alaska. It features a raven head with incised detailing that was painted with deep terra cotta red, black & white. There is beautiful wood grain inside the bowl of the spoon. This was made from yellow cedar & painted with oils; there is a clear coating on it of some sort. This is unsigned. It measures 17.5" L x 3.75" W x 2" D. This would look great with any collection of native American art, especially as an accessory to a potlach or grease bowl!
Excellent to Very good condition. There is a little distressing seen in the painted areas, truly not very noticeable. Some of the black painted areas were cosmetically restored.
