Miniature Pitch Sealed Navajo Diné Water Basket by Diane Platero
Photos coming soon! RARE. This adorable miniature Navajo Diné pitch sealed water basket was made by Diane Platero. She used traditional materials & methods in miniature. This was paintstakingly woven of tiny pieces of split sumac, sealed with a melted conifer pitch mixture & even given tiny authentic braided horsehair handles. These water tight baskets were used to hold water in the home or in a canteen when out on the land. It is tagged with the maker's name and measures approx 1.25" H x 1.5" W x 1.5" D. Super cute, amazing miniature sure to delight you & enhance any collection!
