Vintage SAGE RPLXi 996-3 fly rod constructed with Graphite III technology.
The RPLXi series was designed as a powerful saltwater and large-fish rod, with the strength and lifting power needed for demanding applications. This 9'6", 9-weight model is also well suited to steelhead and salmon fishing where long casts, line control, and authority over strong fish are required.

The original SAGE rod tube and blue rod sock are both clean and remain in good condition. The identification tag is missing from the rod sock.
The cork grip shows moderate signs of use.
The black metal reel seat has a few very light surface marks. The fighting butt and rubber end are clean and remain in good condition.
The blank is generally clean, with only a few very small surface marks. There is a more noticeable group of light scuffs between the third and fourth guides from the tip, as shown in the close-up photographs.
There are no deep scratches, cracks, or other damage that would affect fishing performance. The guides, wraps, ferrules, and tip-top remain in good functional condition.
