Rosemeade Pottery in Wahpeton ND made numerous hand-painted pottery shapes from 1940 to 1961.  Their many animal-shaped salt and peppers were very popular items in the area's souvenir shops.  Often depicting animals native to the area, they were very realistically shaped, detailed, and colored.  

This jacka rabbit salt and pepper set in a glossy gray glaze with black eyes and outlined ears and glossy green grass on their oval base are a great example of Rosemeade's hand-painted attention to detail.  They are the same size -about 1-3/4 inches tall, 1 inch wide, and 2-7/8 inches nose-to-tail.  The salt shaker has 4 holes and the pepper shaker has 3 holes.

Over 60 years old, these are in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing - and ready add to a collection or display all on their own.
