Rosemeade Pottery in Wahpeton ND made numerous hand-painted pottery shapes from 1940 to 1961.  Their many animal-shaped salt and peppers and figurines were very popular items in the area's souvenir shops.  Often depicting animals native to the area, they were very realistically shaped, detailed, and colored.  

These happy miniature elephant figurines with a gray glossy glaze, pink ears, mouth, and tip of the trunk, and black eyes are a great example of Rosemeade's hand-painted attention to detail.  While in different fun poses, both elephants are about 1-1/2 inches tall, 1-1/2 inches wide, and 1-1/2 inches front-to-back.  

Both still have the original Rosemeade foil label on their back.

Over 60 years old, these are in very good vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing - and ready add to a collection or display all on their own.
