Old Japanese iron tsuba featuring an unusual openwork design composed of numerous small, irregularly shaped pierced openings.

The central area has larger asymmetrical sukashi elements, while the outer field is densely decorated with individually shaped perforations. The design has a rustic, hand-worked appearance.

Copper or copper-alloy sekigane are fitted at the upper and lower ends of the nakago-ana, indicating that the opening was adjusted to fit a particular sword tang.

The tsuba is unsigned. Its exact age, school, and motif have not been identified.
