Original Soviet U-31B (У-31Б / ЭОП У-31Б) electro-optical image intensifier (EOP), manufactured for military night vision equipment and scientific optical systems. The U-31B is a first-generation image intensifier designed to amplify extremely low levels of ambient light for passive night vision applications.

According to the original Soviet technical documentation, the U-31B features an oxygen–silver–cesium (S-1) photocathode with a spectral sensitivity range of 360–830 nm and an integral photocathode sensitivity of at least 50 µA/lm, providing excellent performance under moonlight and starlight conditions.

These rare image intensifier tubes were used in Soviet military optical equipment and are now highly sought after by collectors, restorers, researchers, and enthusiasts building custom night vision systems.
