This product is a set of 4 vintage Japanese Seifu Kiln studio pottery plates with a round shape and a diameter of 6.5 inches. These plates were made by the Seifu Kiln (Seifu-gama), which is a studio kiln often associatd with Mino-yaki (Mino ware) from the Gifu prefecture. The mark on the back is hand-painted with a brush which was standard for quality giftware during the 1970s and 1980s and the "crackling" on the bottom was a deliberate aesthetic choice common in the 20th century Mino-yaki. The lack of "Made in Japan" or "Nippon" stamps suggests these were originally intended for the domestic Japanese market or high-end boutique exports, common in the post-1970 era.
