Balda Baldessa Ia 35mm Rangefinder Film Camera Baldanar 45mm f2.8 + Case German
Description
Vintage Balda Baldessa Ia 35mm film camera, made by Balda-Werk in Bünde, West Germany, complete with its original Balda hard case.
The Baldessa range was Balda's line of modestly priced 35mm viewfinder and rangefinder cameras, produced from around 1957 into the late 1960s. They're known for a few distinctive quirks: a folding film advance key in the base that takes a 180 degree turn, a spring-out rewind crank, and a front-mounted shutter release. The Ia sits in the middle of the range with a coupled rangefinder and a front-mounted focusing wheel operated by the index finger, sitting just above the shutter release.
