Camillus US Military Utility Pocket Knife, Dated 1968

WHAT THIS IS: The standard issue American military utility pocket knife, made by Camillus Cutlery of Camillus, New York. This all stainless pattern was carried by US forces for decades, and knives of this type are a staple of militaria and knife collections. The tang is stamped CAMILLUS over a date which reads 1968 in our photos.

MARKINGS:
- US stamped on the front scale
- CAMILLUS and the date stamp on the main blade tang
- CAN OPENER marked on the can opener blade

THE FOUR TOOLS:
- Spear point main blade with a long nail nick
- Can opener
- Combination cap lifter and flat screwdriver
- Awl punch
- Plus the wire bail at the end, for clipping the knife to a lanyard or a belt hook

THE BODY: Diamond checkered stainless steel scales, stainless liners and fittings throughout. These were built to survive field use and salt air, which is why so many are still around while the leather handled knives of the same era have crumbled.

WHO THIS IS FOR: Militaria collectors, Camillus collectors, anyone who served and wants the knife they were issued, and anyone who simply wants an honest American made field knife with history.

CONDITION: An honest used example. The steel shows scattered light rust spotting, most visible around the can opener pivot area, along with scratches, light tarnish and handling wear across the scales. The stampings are readable. All four tools open and close with good spring tension, and the bail is intact and swings freely.

Untested for sharpness, nothing has been cut with it by us, and it will likely want sharpening before use. Only the knife shown is included. Please study all photos carefully before purchasing.
