Royal Albert Old Country Roses bone china mantel clock, a lovely decorative giftware piece in the most famous English bone china pattern of all.

The clock is modelled as a small bracket clock with a domed roof, a moulded acorn finial, and a shaped scalloped foot. The Old Country Roses pattern of full red and yellow roses with buds and green foliage is applied to the roof, the front, the sides and around the base, with rich gold edging to the roof rim and a polished gold bezel surrounding the dial. The white dial carries the Royal Albert crown logo with clear black Arabic numerals and slim black hands.

Please note that the speckled effect along the gold edging is the intended decorative finish of the pattern, not wear. The gilding is intact with nothing rubbed through.

The clock runs on a standard battery quartz movement accessed from the reverse. A new battery has been fitted and the clock has been tested and is keeping time.

The base carries the Old Country Roses backstamp with Royal Albert Bone China and © 1962 Royal Albert Ltd. Please note that 1962 is the copyright date of the pattern, first introduced that year and designed by Harold Holdcroft, and is not the year of manufacture. Giftware pieces such as this clock were produced considerably later.
