Lucian of Samosata (c. AD 120–180) is regarded as one of the greatest satirists of the ancient world. His witty and intelligent works influenced later writers such as Voltaire, Swift, and other masters of satire. He is admired for his sharp criticism of superstition, hypocrisy, greed, false philosophers, and abuse of power. Many readers consider his stories surprisingly modern because of their timeless humor and insight into human nature.

The book includes many of Lucian’s best-known works, featuring humorous dialogues, philosophical satire, and imaginative stories that remain engaging nearly two thousand years after they were written.

The book itself is in very good vintage condition. The hardcover binding is clean and solid, and the interior is well preserved with clean pages.
