Scarce 1908 Ottoman Turkish edition of Hasbıhal: Yahud Eşref ve Kemal by Mehmed Eşref, better known as Şair Eşref. The work is a satirical poetic response to Namık Kemal and his celebrated Hürriyet Kasidesi, using political humor to criticize Sultan Abdülhamid II and the late Ottoman government. It was among Şair Eşref’s final works published during his exile in Egypt.

Published in 1908, probably in Cairo, and bibliographically recorded as a 72-page work. This copy has been placed in an attractive dark-blue hardcover binding with gilt decoration and Ottoman lettering.
