Antique 1923 Ottoman Turkish edition of Kadınlar Saltanatı by noted Ottoman historian Ahmed Refik Altınay. This is Volume IV, covering the Ottoman years 1058–1094 AH, approximately 1648–1683, and discusses Kösem Sultan, Turhan Sultan, court politics, rebellions, and other events associated with the Ottoman “Sultanate of Women.” The book was published in Istanbul by Kitabhane-i Hilmi / Orhaniye Matbaası. Bibliographic listings confirm this 1923 fourth volume and date range.
Illustrated with a frontispiece depicting an Ottoman female dancer. Former library copy with University of Missouri discard stamp, American School for Girls–Scutari bookplate, spine label, catalog markings, and extensive handwriting on the title page.
