Never seen one before at first glance I thought it must be a lidded container but it is a solid lump, It could possibly be a table salt, perhaps a stand for something like a little taper stick ? Its a nice thing, it has a small brass loop in one side and holes on the opposite side where there was another so it must have had a little chain on it either for transport or security
