Original WWII Japanese Imperial Army Type 98 winter service tunic made from olive wool.
The interior inspection stamp is dated Showa 16, corresponding to 1941, and bears the Osaka Army Depot marking.
The collar has red rank tabs with three yellow stars, representing the rank of Private First Class, or Jotohei. The tabs are attached with fine hand stitching.
The tunic retains its original metal buttons and white cotton lining. It is marked as Japanese size 6, a relatively small size.

Condition
This tunic was found in an old private residence and has been preserved in remarkably good condition for its age.
No moth holes or major fabric damage were found.
The wool exterior shows general age, light discoloration, and minor surface wear.
There is a circular brown stain on one sleeve and some additional small age-related marks.
The white interior lining has several brown rust-colored stains corresponding to the positions of the metal buttons.
The buttons show oxidation and age-related discoloration.
The collar rank tabs show some wear and slight lifting at the edges.
The interior inspection and depot markings remain clearly visible.
