How to do leakage test？

1. Fill 20ml baby oil to the detector for the first time. Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover.

2. Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected with detector.

3. Connect detector with DC12V battery, turn on the power switch, and the detector starts to work.

4. In about 30 seconds, the pipe will be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use head lamp if necessary.

WHY DO YOU NEED A S100 SMOKE MACHINE?

Unmetered air entering an engine will cause all sorts of lean conditions. You cannot see the leaks without the help of smoke. A vacuum line can just become porous over time but look ok. O-rings can become hardened and no longer seal. Plastic parts can be separated or cracked.

Warm tips

The oil level shall not exceed the level gauge and please do not exceed 15 ml when adding new oil later.
Please do not to operate the S100 evap system smoke machine continuously for more than 8 minutes.
Before refilling new oil, please pour out the remaining oil in the detector, drain the old oil and then add new oil.
Use mineral oil based smoke oil, do NOT use water based liquid, water based liquid will heat up quickly and lead to overheating.
To ensure the safety of people and vehicles, the engine does not need to be ignited during use.
If your smoke machine's fumes are discharged from the top of the machine: please turn on the gas switch first, then power on.

About S100 EVAP Smoke Machine FAQ

>>1. The smoke from this S100 smoke machine automotive come out from the inside of the housing?

The smoke machine is operated according to normal operating procedures, the smoke will not come out from the inside of the housing.

First open the gas switch and then power (power on the heating, the gas does not flow, the heat will not carry away). Use gas first to determine whether there is a leak, there is no leakage, there is no need to smoke. Even if there is a leak, before injecting smoke should also open the distal interface of the pipeline being tested until there is smoke and then plugged, so that the smoke quickly filled with the system being tested, so that the entire test process only takes 1-2 minutes to complete.

The S100 smoke tester's tube between the flow meter and the heater is made of Teflon PTFE, with a temperature resistance of 270 degrees.

The S100 automotive smoke machine has overheat protection, but the temperature protection is triggered at the bottom line of the heater wire, in order to prevent external fire from overheating. The tube will not melt under normal ventilation unless the air supply is turned off or the system is being tested. So the test needs to pay attention to the state of the flow meter, do not keep running the machine, which will cause the temperature to keep rising, the gas will not flow will not take away the heat.
