• Binding: The original first-state boards (brown/tan paper over black cloth spine) match the earliest issue.

• Dedication page: The single-line dedication “in consideration of Love & Affection” without later changes.

This vintage hardcover is an original first printing of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic. It features the original first-state binding with brown/tan paper-covered boards and a black cloth spine stamped "J. B. Lippincott."

Condition:

No dust jacket.

Binding is solid in the book, however the front and rear hinges (inside covers) show separation/pulling away from the text block due to age and use, but the covers remain attached. 

(There is also a personalized note written by Teri Tines, the original owner of this book. A true child of the 70's, she loved this book so much that she wrote it in there to verify it. Such a wonderful piece of history and the times)

Light shelf wear and edge wear consistent with age.

Interior text pages appear clean.
