Construction Note: The playing surface is inlaid with genuine ebony and maple wood squares. To enhance long-term durability and structural stability, the outer border is crafted from ebonised hardwood and finished with a protective lacquer. Wide sections of solid ebony can be more susceptible to natural movement as temperature and humidity fluctuate; this considered construction helps reduce that risk while maintaining the board’s deep, uniform appearance and structural integrity over years of use.
