This contemporary koruru (gable mask) was hand-carved by contemporary Māori artist and carver Rick (Richard) Hemi in 2000.

Rick Hemi is an established New Zealand carver known for preserving traditional whakairo (Māori wood carving) techniques while creating authentic contemporary pieces.

Design Elements: This 20 inch long x 9 inch wide, parata wall mask showcases full-face tā moko surface patterns and highly reflective eyes crafted from native New Zealand pāua (abalone) shell.

This is a one of a kind, vintage, traditional New Zealand decor.
