This is a lovely piece of clear glass vintage Pyrex.  The cover fits securely on the casserole dish as it sits between two lips at the side edge of each handle on the upper edge of the casserole.  This prevents it from sliding off easily.
This is a 2 quart casserole dish. It is 3 1/2 inches high and 7 1/2 inches in diameter. The lid is about 1 inch deep and has a 7 inch diameter space that can also be used as a separate baking dish. When covered, the dish is about 5 inches tall.
There are no cracks or chips and no carbonized grease on either of  the two pieces.  There is some fine scratching from age and storage. The dish has hardly been used.
The name" PYREX" and "de CORNING" are imprinted on one of the extended handles on the casserole.  The word "FRANCE"  and    "454  C" are imprinted on the other.  One extended handle on the cover says, ""PYREX"  and "de CORNING"; the other  "FRANCE  454  C"  on the other.
