An attractive vintage Herodia Timemaster gentleman’s hand-wound wristwatch, believed to date from the 1950s.
The standout feature is its beautifully preserved champagne bullseye dial, with a finely textured linen-style outer section, raised gilt Arabic numerals and hour markers, elegant hands and a distinctive red-tipped sweep seconds hand. The dial catches the light wonderfully and gives the watch considerable period character.
The watch is powered by a Swiss-made 17-jewel manual-wind movement with Incabloc shock protection. It is currently running and keeping time, although it has not been professionally serviced or tested for long-term accuracy.
The chrome-plated case measures approximately 34mm across excluding the crown and approximately 42mm lug to lug. The plating remains particularly good for a watch of this age, with only general age-related marks and light surface wear.
It is fitted with a new black leather strap which has received only light use.
A very appealing mid-century Swiss watch with a striking sector-style dial and excellent wrist presence.
