The Famous War Posters Miniature Series Was A Promotional Set Issued In The United States During World War II By Associated Oil Company, A Major West Coast Petroleum Company That Later Became Part Of Tidewater Associated Oil Company. The Series Reproduced Well Known American Wartime Propaganda Posters In Small Poster Stamp Format And Was Distributed As A Promotional Premium Through Service Stations And Oil Dealers To Encourage Public Interest In The War Effort While Also Promoting The Company’s Brand.

The Miniatures Were Based On Official Posters Produced By The United States Office of War Information, The U.S. War Production Board, And Other Government Agencies Responsible For Home Front Campaigns. These Posters Promoted Themes Such As Victory Gardens, Food Conservation, War Bonds, Military Recruitment, Civil Defense, And Public Support For Allied Forces. Associated Oil Reduced The Posters To Stamp Sized Labels And Issued Them As A Collectible Educational Series Designed To Illustrate Important Wartime Public Information Campaigns.
