What This Poster Stamp Is All About: This Poster Stamp Was Issued In 1943 As A United States Navy Recruiting Cinderella To Promote Service In The Seabees, The Navy’s Construction Battalions, And Was Specifically Aimed At Construction Workers Between 17 And 50 Years Of Age. It Was Based On A Wartime Recruiting Poster Created By Nebraska-Born Artist John Falter And Was Intended To Appeal To Skilled Civilian Laborers By Presenting The Seabees As Men Who Could Both Build Military Infrastructure And Fight In Active Combat Service In The Pacific Theater.
The Design Shows Seabees In Steel Helmets Firing From Behind Sandbags, Including One Using An M1 Carbine And Another Using A Thompson Submachine Gun, While A Crane And Bulldozer Appear In The Background To Reinforce The Dual Role Of Construction And Combat. The Composition Combines Front-Line Action With Heavy Equipment And Building Activity To Emphasize That The Seabees Were Not Ordinary Infantry But Naval Construction Troops Trained To Work And Fight Under Wartime Conditions. The Piece Also Includes The Seabees Insignia, And John Falter, U.S.N.R., Is Printed As The Artist In The Lower Right Area Of The Design, While The Date 6 July 1943 Was Printed In The Lower Margin Of The Original Poster Issue. Most Of The Poster Stamps And Cinderellas I Offer Are Truly Old Historic
Treasures! Many Are Close To 100 Years Old Or More. Because Of Their Age, You
Might Notice A Few Minor Imperfections Here And There. They're Full Of History
And Character, But They Most Definitely Aren't Post Office Fresh. That's
Especially True For Cinderella And Poster Stamps, So Please Take A Good Look At
The Scans Because They're An Important Part Of The Description. Also, Please
Note That The Backs Of Poster Stamps Are Typically Considered Much Less
Important Than The Fronts, And Descriptions Can Be A Bit Subjective. If The
Condition Of The Back Is Important To You, Just Reach Out. I Am Happy To
Provide More Details Or Additional Scans.
I Do My Best To Describe Everything
Honestly And Accurately, And To The Best Of My Ability, I Guarantee That All
Items Are Genuine (Unless Otherwise Noted). If A Reprint, Reproduction Or
Forgery Is Listed, It Is Clearly Noted In The Stamp Description. I'm Not A
Philatelic Expert, Just A Passionate Collector And Seller Who Cares About
Getting It Right. Occasionally A Mistake Might Slip Through, But If An Item
Turns Out To Be Fundamentally Not As Described, I'll Make It Right With A
Refund.
Please Feel Free To Reach Out With
Any Questions Or If You'd Like To See More Scans Or Photos. I'm Always Happy To
Help Before You Buy.

Priority. The Rest Is Just A Bonus.
