This rare 95 year old sign was most likely part of an advertising campaign in the 1930's.

The slogan "Healthful Cleanliness" was used about this time and is featured on this pennant

Additionally, the Dutch Maid is portrayed in such a way that her face is hidden from view. This image was changed in the 1950's.

This was probably a dealer advertising pennant for grocery stores, hardware stores to hang from the ceiling, walls or front window displays.

This not paper- it is glazed cotton duck and the design is printed directly onto the fabric. As a result the graphics are still bright. Printed in U.S.A

Because this was hung at some point there are tack holes in the upper corners as well as some scotch tape (I am not sure why).

The back is just blank with some natural discoloration.

I have searched extensively and cannot find another example of this exact pennant anywhere except there was one sold in Japan but I cannot read Japanese (image search).

The rarity of this piece is that they were promotional materials designed to be thrown away when the promotion was over.

The triangle is 15.5" across and each side is 26".

I am not an expert in the area of advertising but I am an excellent researcher propelled by my interest in all things with a potentially interesting history. In particular items made and used in the USA.
