This "For Your Emmy Consideration" DVD is from 2002.
This DVD contains the Pilot Episode of "Alias", (titled "Truth Be Told") which originally aired on ABC on September 30th, 2001. It also contains the episode "Page 47" (episode 15 of season 1) that aired on March 3rd, 2002.
The last 4 pictures that I posted are screenshots from the DVD. They show the onscreen text before the menu comes up and the last picture is a shot of the menu.
This DVD is in Excellent Used Condition and plays perfectly.
The DVD case is in Near Mint Condition as it's been stored in the cardboard slipcover.
The slipcover has some slight wear, mainly on the edges and corners but is still in very nice shape and extremely displayable!
Pictures are of the actual item for sale.
All items that I sell come from a smoke free & pet free home.
"For Your Consideration" VHS tapes and DVDs are manufactured by the networks & studios for the sole purpose of distributing them to members of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (who vote for the Emmy's) or the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (who vote for The Oscars) to solicit votes for their TV show/movie nominee. Because they're made in such limited quantities, they are hard to find, highly collectable and sought after by fans. Another reason these FYC copies are rare is because many of them get thrown out after viewing them (if they're watched at all), as they are pretty much thought of as "Hollywood Junk Mail".
Depending on the studio and how much money they want to spend on these copies, they may be packed in a simple white slipcover or in very fancy, eye catching or gimmicky packaging.
On most of these FYC tapes & DVDs, the video is watermarked with the phrase "For Review Purposes Only", "For Screening Purposes Only" or "Property of (fill in the blank) Studio" that may be on screen the entire time, or pop up intermittently.
