Glossy vs. Matte Film Selection Guide

Application Guide & Technical Specs

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Design: Select or design your high-resolution image. Make sure to choose the Mirror Print setting in your software.
  2. Print: Print the mirrored image onto the treated printing side of the PET film using a dedicated DTF printer loaded with DTF inks.
  3. Powder: Apply DTF hot-melt powder evenly over the wet ink before it dries. Gently shake off all excess powder around the design edges.
  4. Curing: Place the film into a curing oven or under a heat press to bake and melt the powder until it flows smoothly.
  5. Transfer: Place the treated film design-side down onto flat, clean fabric. Press with a heat press machine using the correct parameters.
  6. Peeling & Washing: Peel the film according to its type (Hot peel for Matte / Cold peel for Glossy). Wait 24 hours before the first wash.

Recommended Parameters:

Printer Settings Simultaneous White & Color output (Color first, then White). Output clarity relies on image resolution. Adjust colors using your ink supplier's ICC profile.
Heat Press Temp 140 - 150°C (284 - 302°F) *Subject to change depending on your DTF powder brand.
Pressing Time 10 - 15 seconds
Compatibility Compatible with all standard and modified inkjet/DTF printers. Suitable for DTF inks and textile inks.
Important Notes:
- A small portion of standard desktop inkjet inks may not adhere well to DTF coatings. We highly recommend using professional DTF inks for optimal results.
- Due to varying monitor calibrations and lighting setups, the actual product hue might slightly differ from the pictures.
