This is a fine and highly desirable Wedgwood "The London Jug," designed by Victor Skellern and produced in 1966. Made as part of a special production for Liberty of London, this piece carries significant design pedigree, this was recognised at the British Souvenir Competition in the very same year.

Measuring 15.5cm in height, the jug is crafted from Wedgwood’s signature Queen’s ware, a smooth, cream-colored earthenware coated in a clear, glossy glaze. The design is crisp and elegant, applied via lithograph in stark black typography bordered by crisp black banding at the top and bottom rim.

One side features the iconic quote by Samuel Johnson (1709–1784), "When a man is tired of London he is tired of Life," framed within a stylised floral and foliate wreath. The reverse side presents William Wordsworth's celebrated 1802 poem, "Westminster Bridge," beautifully set within a matching botanical border.

In terms of condition, this piece is in excellent condition for its age, showcasing a bright, smooth glaze with the lithograph detailing remarkably well preserved.
