I see a lot of these jackets labeled as "49ers" but that's completely wrong. In 1949, Pendleton released the '49er, but it was strictly a woman's jacket. At the same time, they released the Topster, which is this jacket style you see here. Three leather button closure, three pockets, all cut on the bias. I collected these jackets for over 40 years--now I live in a place where seeing wool is rare. I have about 20 I'll be listing, so if you don't like this one, look at the rest of my auctions. This one was made after 1960, probably before 1980. Chest about 44", across shoulders 18", sleeve length 25", length from bottom of collar 30". Perfect; smells like wool. Its buttons are imitation leather (plastic).
