An incredibly rare, vintage porcelain figurine of a British Bulldog crafted by the renowned Branksome China.
Branksome China was established in 1945 by Ernest Baggaley, a master potter (formerly from Poole Pottery) and is highly regarded for its unique, durable semi-translucent porcelain formula. This specific piece features the authentic early "Branksome China England" crown backstamp on the underbelly, dating its production between 1945 and 1956 from their Bournemouth Factory.
This collectible piece captures the definitive, proud stance of the bulldog, beautifully highlighted by Branksome’s signature glossy glaze finish.
It features distinct tan and white brindled markings and a hand-painted brown and aa red/gold studded collar detail.
The head is subtly turned to the right, showing off excellent facial wrinkles and character.
The underside bears the official stamped maker's mark: "Branksome China, England".
A prized addition for any serious porcelain dog collector or Branksome enthusiast.
