You may also be aware that truly wild Agarwood of this Kinam/Kyara quality can require up to 300 years before it can even be discovered and harvested — typically only after the tree has naturally died and fallen, often after approximately 250 years or more of life. Authentic wild Agarwood — also known as Oud, Gaharu, Aloeswood, Eaglewood, a.s.o — has historically shown continuous long-term appreciation in value. The “Older” the tree, the better the “Quality”
1 SLITHER/ 1 Micro-shaving of this piece may BE “SIMMERED” MORE THAN 1 TIME. Used on a (EMH) Electric Mica Heater: Generally, the older the material, the higher the temperature it can tolerate. Example: 300+ years mature Kynam ~170 °C ↗ for scent opening, ~300 °C ↗ for progressive oil release.
ATTENTION: These temperature ranges are widely regarded as optimal for the finest Kyara. If a sliver chars, burns rapidly, or loses its aroma unusually quickly under such conditions, it is generally considered indicative of younger Agarwood or material lacking true Kyara-grade long term fermantation + maturity.
For centuries, Japanese Kōdō masters have buried glowing charcoal within a carefully shaped ash cone, reducing its direct heat of approximately 500–700 °C to an effective range of roughly 170–300 °C at the summit. A thin sliver of Kyara is placed above, where its fragrance may begin to unfold at around 170 °C, while deeper resinous oils are gradually released as temperatures approach 300 °C—allowing the precious aromatic compounds to emerge while preserving the fragrance, rather than destroying it through combustion. By contrast, direct mica (=Agarwood slither/shaving) heating⟶directly on shisha charcoal is commonly performed at around 321 °C–378 °C, allowing deeper resinous notes to emerge while preserving aromatic complexity.
For younger Agarwood of lower maturity (15-45 Yrs. Max.) —material that has not reached the age, resin development, and long-term maturation typically associated with Kyara—heating is often initiated at around 110 °C to release the first aromatic phenols, with noticeable oil expression commonly occurring near 130 °C. This reflects the lower thermal stability of younger, less mature resin structures.

Regarding history scientifically, Kyara, (Kynam or Qinan) is old Aloes-/Agarwood aged to its ripest value. The great scientific facts are:
Growth
Is the lifetime of an A. Agallocha tree consuming fruit & flower flavored ingredients of the neighboring Floraby its roots, during its growth time. The fragrant fertilizer of aromatic flower waste, oily, green leaves and fruits gets perfected by birds and insects.
Fermentation( after Infection )
Is the time after getting injured/infected. By producing its own salutary reactive resources and defense materials, the tree withstands the infection by concealing it.The necessary immunization reactivere source, is the “sought after” well assorted & and well flavored, precious resinous, fragrant oil. The tree continuously produces and provides new resin oil films through its pores and vein system. The Kyara quality increases with the time of the lasting infection/ injury,which is supported by certain penetrating insects. During the trees life time the tree compresses the infection by newly produced layers of oil films that then turn from a fluid to a goey resin, inside the tree. The injury can last to the natural death of the tree. Then, after fallen, the resinous oil maturing begins.
