Lower Barremian Geology

The Barremian Stage belongs to the Early Cretaceous and spans approximately 129 to 125 million years ago. About Anahamulina davidsoni

Anahamulina is an extinct genus of heteromorph ammonite. Unlike normally coiled ammonites, heteromorphs developed shells with partly uncoiled or irregular growth patterns. This unusual morphology gives the fossil a distinctive shape and reflects the remarkable evolutionary diversity of Cretaceous cephalopods.


Ammonites were marine molluscs related within the wider cephalopod group to living squid, cuttlefish and nautiluses.
