Description

Gibson SJ-200 2000 Used Acoustic Guitar 2000

This guitar features a solid spruce top, solid flame maple sides and back, a maple/rosewood three-piece neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, scalloped bracing, a 44mm nut width, and a 25.5-inch scale length, resulting in a 17-inch super jumbo body.

It has Kluson-type Keystone plastic tuners, four pearl inlays around the bridge saddle (before and after the pins), and a slightly yellowed pickguard for a more vintage look—subtle details that make it stand out, showcasing Yamano Music's attention to detail! The curly maple back features a striking flame maple grain rarely seen in recent regular models, further enhancing its imposing presence!

The sound is a powerful J-200 sound, a fusion of the maple's characteristic brilliance and the imposing impact of a jumbo body! This guitar delivers a powerful and bright maple sound that can only be experienced with this model, blending a bouncy bass, a slightly compressed midrange characteristic of Gibson, and crisp, articulate, and glossy treble.

When strummed with a flat pick, it produces a powerful, resonant sound with the immense pressure unique to its jumbo size. Even when fingerpicked, the crisp, articulate sound characteristic of maple is enhanced by the clear, extended sustain of the scalloped bracing, resulting in a transparent sound with excellent note separation!

Considering its age, the instrument is in surprisingly good condition! While there is some weather checking due to age, there are few scratches, and overall, it is in exceptionally good condition—a level rarely seen.

Regarding scratches, there are two small dents of about 2mm on the 6th string side of the top and near the end, but these are not very noticeable, especially considering the elegant weather checking. There are some minor scuffs on the back, but the characteristic surface blemishes of Gibson's finish are more noticeable, so you can rest assured that there are no significant scratches.

If I had to nitpick, the end pin is quite rusty for some reason (laughs). But that's easily replaceable.

As is typical with 3-piece necks, there's almost no unevenness due to wood shrinkage, and playability is very smooth. The neck condition is good and mostly straight.

The current string height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.5mm on the 6th string side and 2.0mm on the 1st string side, which is an ideal setting. There's still plenty of room on the saddle, so further fine-tuning of the string height is possible.

Fret wear is minimal, with almost 100% of the height remaining. Comes with original hardshell case.
