A fabulous oversized black, white and silver-tone statement necklace, attributed to British fashion label SALOOS.
The necklace combines glossy graduated black beads with bold black-and-white patterned feature beads and silver-tone round beads. The large oval pendant has an ornate silver-tone frame surrounding a dramatic coordinating black-and-white centre.
I found a SALOOS necklace online featuring an almost identical arrangement of beads, fittings and overall construction, although it has a differently shaped pendant. A copy of that photograph will be included in this listing as supporting evidence for the attribution. The necklace measures approximately 50 cm or 19.7 inches long, including its 7 cm or 2.75-inch extender chain. The smallest round beads measure approximately 1 cm or 0.4 inches in diameter, increasing to approximately 1.5 cm or 0.6 inches. The larger shaped beads measure around 3 x 2 cm or 1.2 x 0.8 inches. The impressive pendant measures approximately 6 x 7 cm or 2.4 x 2.75 inches.
The silver-tone elements have darkened with age. I believe they would brighten with a good clean, but I have deliberately left this to the new owner so the finish can be treated according to personal preference.
A striking and unusual piece of statement costume jewellery with strong monochrome styling and persuasive evidence supporting its attribution to SALOOS.
