Hitachi “Moon Light” Model 506 – this one dated 1966.
An iconic design and amazing to think it is 60 years old.
A “wing” style fluorescent tube desk lamp with one of the most distinctive and more attractive bases for a lamp of this type.
The wing shade housing the tube is cream and the heavy base a glossy black finish.
The base has a slightly raised circular silver metallic disc with “Hitachi” branding in the centre and a white push button switch.
Great Japanese retro styling.
The lamp is fully functional, untouched and in original condition.
There are a few blemishes to the base. The shade has a few signs of use but no splits, cracks or repairs.
Both bulb holders are solid.
A T8 fluorescent tube is fitted and another spare can be provided.
Please note, this has a type of momentary switch meaning the push button has to be pressed and held for about 1/2 a second for the tube to 'start'. When the bulb is lit at both ends the switch can be released and the bulb illuminates fully.

Dimensions: The lamp shade measures 49cm across and 8cm deep, with a height of 5cm. The base is approximately 13 cm wide and 14cm deep with a height of 4cm. The fixed part of the stand has a height of about 22cm, whilst the gooseneck has an extended length of 16cm. The overall adjustable height is approximately 32cm to 55cm. The cable length is approx 150cm.
